A Lexus GX470 is a Lexus SUV, calling it something else is just retarded. I am sure most of us know it shares the same platform as a toyota 4runner, but with tons of upgrade, it deserves or qualifies to carry the Lexus luxury brand.

It's a huge leap of faith, arrogant and almost insulting for you
to imply others on this LEXUS site bought a vehicle merely because
of brand name.

We all have our reasons for purchasing a Lexus and they may
be different than yours, but that doesn't mean they are of any less value.

We all bought a Lexus, but it is you wanting to pretend you didn't.

What if they like the safety features and customer service. What if
they like the whole package and made the decision to buy one but

than you?....Are they somehow "wrong"?

I have absolutely no interest in changing the oil on my vehicle any
more than I have interest in bussing my own table at a restaurant.
If you enjoy changing oil, great.....I may prefer using my time doing

I'm going to try this again, briefly.
- I thought the truck was the best in the market for my needs based on size, quality, drivetrain, price, reliability, etc.
- For me, the brand was a net negative (believe it or not, up to you).
- The truck's qualities outweighed the negative brand connotation *for me*, so we bought it anyways.

What about that ^^ don't you understand?

I realize it's a lexus, hence my comments about the brand. I agree, from a resale POV it would be silly to put Toyota badges on it. Really silly.

I also think you may be confusing me w/the OP.

Let's all go back to enjoying our Lexus'.

Your GX470 is practically a rebadged Toyota Prado.

The toyota prado is not offered with a 4.7L V8, so even though they may share some parts and body panels or even have the same platform, it is not the EXACT same vehicle.

Maybe a better description would be that the GX470 is the upgraded version of the prado. Just like the Lexus brand is the upgraded version of Toyota.

However, like someone else said on here. The Land Cruiser Prado never came with the 4.7. Only the GX and 4runner offer this.

This is my opinion, If i wanted something cheaper and in the same class then i would have bought a 4runner instead. I would never put a toyota badge on mine because its a lexus!

But i do have a question. Maybe its been asked and answered in the thread but i didn't read through it. Why are you doing this anyway? Why didn't you just buy a 4runner instead and save a couple thousand matching the option of the gx? It makes no sense to me.

The OP wants to people to be aware that the GX470 is a Landcruiser Prado at its roots. After all the GX470 is much more Prado that it is Lexus.

I don't consider exclusivness of the 4.7 as all that special or meaning that it is a Lexus because it has the 4.7. The 4.7 is offered in Tundra, 4runner, LC, Prado and GX.

Yes the GX has the Lexus badge but it is more re-badged than any other Lexus aside from the LX470/LC.

The 4runner is much more different from the GX470 than the GX470 is different from a Prado.

There are a lot of features and options that are exclusive to 4runner...whereas anyone overseas can a get a fully loaded Prado except the 4.7/KDSS which will match features and specs of the GX470.

An engine does not make the Lexus GX470 into a Lexus, its the whole package including all the interior upgrades, engine, drivetrain, etc.......
