We like Lexus brand vehicles. We like Toyota brand vehicles. We buy both.

My wife and I don't own ADR's (something like stock) in Lexus because Lexus is not really a company. We own ADR's in Toyota which manufactures vehicles that, in some markets, carry the Lexus brand.

Lexus is a little like the Lincoln brand sold by Ford Motor Company and the Cadillac brand sold by General Motors. Lexus is an upgraded Toyota -- and that is not bad at all.

Lexus vehicles are often assembled in the same factories that produce similar Toyota vehicles.

It's all just marketing.

For the last 18+ years, all our Lexus LS cars have worn Toyota license plate frames after a Lexus dealer tried to sell me a $4 Toyota oil filter for $13.

 

WOW! I can't believe how soft and sensitive GX owners are.

First they get upset because someone called their GX a Prado.
Second they get upset because someone said they couldn't afford a LX

What's next...I bet GX470 owners shop at the mall with their wives at Prada

 

Am i wrong or right? you can have your likes of how you want your car to look like but don't say that "oh you bought this beacuse you can't afford that." Thats just immature and ignorant. Thats like saying someone bought the 4runner because they can't afford the Sequoia.

So what if i take my wife to a Prada store?

 

Or they bought the Sequoia because they couldn't afford the Land Cruiser.

 

I checked the previous posts of this member calling himself pagemaster, and lo and behold, this guy is all over the place, I mean he goes to other CL subforums stirring up other members. He has use the line “I bet you this….” more than once trying to elicit a pissing match, making fun of people who owns minivans, etc.

For non-believers, just click on his username, then a drop down list appears, then click on ‘find more posts by pagemsater’. He doesn’t even own a GX470, he has a 97 ES300. He's here just to annoy GX470 owners.

I pity this guy, looks like he needs professional help. He appears to be emotionally-deprived in real life so he compensates by going to internet forums and pick fights/arguments to get some attention.

cssnms i think you are right, but i should have followed your advice earlier!

 

Please, I haven't really been part of this discussion but somehow managed to get insulted twice about not being able to "afford" an LX. I drive the GX and my wife drives a Seqouia; I guess we are too poor to move up to "the big one". Plus the whole idea of whether you "deserve" to own a GX based on whether it goes offroad, gets 22's, etc is so juvenile. Are you looking of SUV street cred? Just like some can put a Toyota badge on theirs, I can drive mine however, and where ever I want.

Finally, Toyota makes Lexus its not in dispute just like the GX has the SAME POWERTRAIN as a V8 4Runner, and THE SAME BASIC BODY AND INTERIOR of the Prado.

Quit being idiots and move on.
