love my gx
today was one of those days that reminded my why I love the gx so much.
we're remodeling our cabin which has resulted in a lot of unpacked dirt around the place. recent heavy rains in the pac nw have caused some small mudslides and a ton of groundwater. I decided to take the day off to see if I could do something about it.
stopped by the hardware store on the way and bought 20 ~40lb sandbags to divert the water. Dropped the rear suspension and loaded it up. The guy helping me thought I was crazy hauling that much weight in the lexus.
after loading, I started it up and the suspension brought the tail right up to level. cranked up the stiffness of the suspension to "sport" and drove another 50+ miles with the load. the truck did great. you could tell there was something heavy in the trunk, but it drove fine. I was pretty blown away.
got to the cabin and backed down a steep, wet, greasy muddy driveway to drop off the sandbags. I thought I was going to get stuck for sure on the way out. nope. after unloading I hopped back in and drove out like it was dry. really impressive traction. not a slip.
spent the day shoveling mud, jumped back into the truck and drove 150 miles home in really nasty conditions. standing water, heavy rain, heavy traffic. no sweat for the gx; just tracked like a freight train.
great, great truck.
just thought I'd share
