I have no idea when the new GX will be unveiled.

 

Didn't say anything about the engine size.

It will still be a V8, but I didn't ask if it will be the 4.7 or the 5.7.

The 4.7 is pretty noisy and rough comparitively. I would prefer the 5.7.

 

If the new gx will be equiped with the new 5.7, i'll be tempting to get another gx.

 

Has anyone confirmed if the new GX will debut at the Detroit show coming up? I am curious too. Once its specs are revealed i assume they will mirror the next 4runners too

I personally am not convinced that there will be an update to the GX
The Lexus web site has lots on the RX update but nothing about the GX

 

Word is that it will be a new 4.6L V8 with 300hp and ~350 lb-ft of torque, mated to a 6AT. 4.7 is gone, and I guess they don't think they'll need the 5.7L in a truck this size. Mileage with the new engine is also supposed to shoot up 1-2MPG.

300hp is plenty, IMO. Especially with a tad more torque and an extra gear in the transmission.
