Questions for people who have added the OEM rear spoiler
I'm trying to justify adding it, but I need to hear about some actual functional benefit. I like the way it looks, but... does it change anything from a functional perspective?
- does it keep the rear window cleaner?
- does it provide shade?
- does it make your car lift off like a jet @ 70mph?
Anything? Beuller?

The spoiler creates downforce at high speeds keeping the rear end planted. Last weekend, I found myself drafting an LX at 135 and was surprised at how well the truck held its line through long sweepers at that speed.

I agree w/everyone about the looks.
Has anyone on the thread actually added one after purchase? Did it actually keep the rear window cleaner? That's the only benefit I've heard Lexus tout.
I also wonder whether it might help minimally w/wind resistance. Turns out if you extend the rear edge of the "roof" of a car like ours, it reduces wind resistance. Maybe turns it into a Prius

Guys, I didn't notice the rear window was any cleaner when I took a trip up to Tahoe / Reno this past winter - the window was still coated with snow and dirt - and I have the rear spoiler installed by the factory. Car came that way. Do like the looks, though! Personally, I would add it if I didn't have it.

I've had two GXs, 1 with the spoiler and 1 without. I didn't notice any significant difference in how clean the back window stays, and certainly no difference in vehicle performance that I could tell.
We get snow here, and it's easier clearing snow off the roof without the spoiler in my opinion. Other than that I think it's just a matter of appearance.

It is much more of a pain to wax the car with it since there are crevices to get into now.
