I'm new to the forum, but I have been lurking in here since last fall when I purchased a CPO 2006 in silver titanium. Mine did not come with the rear spoiler, and as part of the deal, I made them add it to the truck. It really looked naked without it. At any rate, they had to drill into the rear door to attach the spoiler, so if you remove it, you would need to have the holes filled and the rear door repainted. You would also need to add the 3rd tail light back in, which they block off when the spoiler is attached. This could be a bit pricey overall, you must really hate the looks of it?

I dont know though because when i see if without the wing it makes it look as if its more rounded and i like that and with the wing it looks flat but then again the costs are going to be expensive it just might be a summer project =).

I don't tend to like big hunks of useless plastic tacked on to my cars. I could have bought a pontiac if I wanted that

I assumed it was there to help keep the rear window clear from dust...

We live on a dirt road and the rear window of our be-winged GX is much cleaner than the non-be-winged rear window of our BMW wagon... Obviously, it may have nothing to do with the existence or lack of wing, but typically (in the past) that was their purpose....

I'm just screwing w/you guys

Though, I do have to ask: where else to we have big hunks of useless plastic? I know there are big expanses of plastic (bumpers, running boards, etc.) but most of them actually serve a purpose.

from a recent survey I did, people who went from "no spoiler" to "spoiler" couldn't tell that it made a significant functional difference (including keeping the rear window cleaner).

I'm actually torn on the look, and I clearly have wing-envy
