"bubbles" on wheels
The finish on all four rims of my 06 GX have bubbling on the edges. The edges with the bubbling are the edges nearest the rotors. When I bought the GX the other day the dealer said that Lexus did not allow dealers to replace the rims as part of the CPO certification process. He did think that this defect was covered under the 4 year factory warranty though, so I should request that the rims be replaced during my next visit to the service department (assuming I am still within the 4 year factory warranty period).
Has anyone had similar issues with their wheels? And if so, did the service department replace them without giving you grief?
Thanks.

No issues w/my wheels, but I would suggest getting them done as soon as possible. There's no sense in waiting, especially if you found a SA that has more or less agreed to take care of it under warranty.

Lots of people have had the same problem, myself included. Do a search and you should come up with some examples.
If I remember right, one person on here brought his GX in for the appointment to have the wheels replaced, and the new wheels at the dealer were bubbled right out of the box.
I've never bothered to try and get mine covered, since I plan on eventually replacing them with something else when it's time for new tires. (I hate the factory wheels on the GX)
It does concern me a bit though. When I crawl under my truck to do the oil changes, the amount of surface rust all over the chassis is pretty extensive for the age of my truck, and I know I'm also not the only one with that issue. Add that to the issues with the wheels, and I hope these trucks don't turn into rustbuckets like old Toyota pickups do.

Mine are just starting to bubble and the dealer said they would not replace them since they are not that bad. They will "keep an eye on them" if they get worse. I watch them each time I wash the wheels and as soon as it start to spread or peel off I will confront them again.
