FWIW, my '03 has 92K on it and never a problem, and I truly don't think I could tell the difference between it and a new one on the road -- solid, quiet, no squeaks, rattles, or any of the mileage based things that happen to lots of lesser vehicles.

Too bad Lexus cannot build all their cars like the GX, solid, no rattles and time tested. The new Lexus sedans are rattle traps.

I've got the worst rattle in my driver side window controls. I popped it out and lined it with foam but it still rattles like a mother.

Yeah you won't find me far from that cookie counter when I am there.

Did you just buy your GX? Is it silver?

Really? I'm not too surprised. I tend to think that all Toyota vehicles have been declining in "quality" in a sense over the past several years. For example, I kind of think that in some regards, a LS400 > LS430 > LS460. I'm not talking about which one has the most bells and whistles and gee-whiz gizmos, but which is fundamentally the highest quality vehicle. I guess it could (and probably should) be expected with the insane growth that they've experienced. I suppose they did well not to have a disaster of some sort as most companies simply can't handle such a rate of growth. Maybe the economic and production slow-down will give them a chance to catch up some things.

LOL I think I saw you and what I assume was your wife test driving the truck on W Gude as you were heading back to the dealer. First I noticed that pretty silver GX, then I noticed the dealer tags in the back.

Nice that was us.. yea its a small town we live in. That was my wife test driving her new GX. Silver wasnt her frist choice but its starting to really grow on her. I love the truck myself i think its a ROCK that drives like a dream.

BTW - Guys using the color as a bargaining tool works very well these days

I almost purchased from Carmax but they wouldn't budge on price... They ended up sending the truck to a different market rather than dropping the price by $2K...

On their website if you create an account it allows you to track a bunch of vehicles you like, like adding it to your wish list. One of the options allows you to setup an e-mail alert if there is a price drop on a vehicle you like. I have this setup, so far I have two which they drop the price by almost $500.
