I had the Covers installed by a professional. It was just a matter of taking the old mirror apart and replacing the cover.
The hardest part, it seemed was to pull the wires out of the old and put them back into the new, due to the connectors on the end of the wires. The installer took a picture with his cell phone of the wires before he cut the connectors off. I don't think he really needed to do that, as the wires are color coded. He didn't refer back to his picture when he reconnected the wires.
Since the mirror already had wires going into it for the Muth Mirrors, he didn't have to search for the Turn Signal wires. He did however, have to search for the Running Board wires to connect to the Puddle Lights.
Don't forget and make sure that the inside of the cover is painted at least two inches in from the edge.

Yes, there is a puddle lamp.
I too, thought the lens should follow the body line on the mirror housing.
Turns out that the body line is NOT level. But the cover lens is.
I noticed it today when I was looking at the GX from the front.

Cap,
Seems like this mirror cover install is still bugging you and it should.
I guess "level" is not the exact word.
To me, they look like they are not made for the car.
Whether by a spirit level or sighting it like a rifle, they don't line up.
I do like the puddle lights.

The Mirror Cover, Led Turn Signals nor the install bother me.
In fact, I am delighted with them.
