Update 2: a few pics from the weekend
Update: It's been a while since posting on here. I couldn't stand the color so I bought a black one. Tried slightly larger tires this time around (305/60/18) and it fit perfectly. Just a little trimming to the front fender liner and bumper clip but all in all I'm very happy with how it turned out. Also added a few pics comparing it to my Range Rover Sport (offroad mode) and my dad's Toyota Land Cruiser.
Stock:
Lifted: (About to get tires mounted and balanced)
9x18 XD Monsters:
Finished product:
Height comparison with my range rover sport with the air suspension set to high:
GX470:
RRS: Even with a serious height disadvantage don't think the rover isn't a very capable offroader. Its gone everywhere I've asked it to.
Comparison with my dad's Toyota Land Cruiser
Wanted to try out the new set of fj wheels with 285/70/17 Cooper SST tires. Overall the truck handled well but I am trying to figure out a way to get better flex from the ifs front. My friends shop is trying to convince me to go with a solid front axle but I think that may be a bit extreme.
If enough people are interested in a complete DIY writeup on how to raise their GX I will take pictures. Otherwise just PM me and Ill give you a brief rundown.

Lexus Champion
He probably added lift spacers to his stock front suspension like he did on his white GX.
To trick the rear for lift all you have to do is add washers or nuts between the ride height sensor bracket and frame rails to achieve your desired ride height.

Hey guys just thought id post up a few pics of my new project. Got tired of people asking if I was driving my moms car, and also tired of smashing up the running boards going over rocks, so i decided to lift it.
The lift includes 4runner 2.5" leveling spacers in the front and my own adjustment to the rear ride height sensor brackets in the back (if anyone wants to know how to do this just pm me).

Parts needed:
I added 2 washers to each of the 2 bolts and I got 1/2" of lift.
- Washers: 8mm: 1 washer = 1/16" thick / 2 washers = 1/8" thick
- Bolts: M8 (8mm) coarse thread / 1.5" in length; you can use 1" but I went w/ the longer since I'm going to lift it more once I get my coilovers on. Even 1.5" in length will screw all the way into the frame without any washers so you're fine using longer bolts.

Lift Kit
Could you please guide me
through the size and brand lift you had on the white GX470? I also have a black one. I came across pictures of yours and that is exactly how I want to set mine up. I love your black on black but I think I’m going to go with the exact set up you had on the white one. Going to get the same 17” Toyota wheels and 285/70/17 tires. That is the correct size you had in the white one correct? Just need to figure out what size lift to put on it and any other details that I need to know would be greatly appreciated!
