JOBGS.....I am driving my 2nd GX470 and I love the vehicle. I am single w/no kidos so not sure how it work as a "family car". It has been very dependable and a joy to own. IMO nothing on the market comes close to the GX as a package of great looks and dependability. Other makes may have one or the other, but not both like the GX. Good luck with your search and possible purchase.

Congrats on becoming a dad and GX would be the best family luxury SUV. I think it is a bit high on the price as mentioned do look out you get some good deals around.

Our family is expanding and I love the GX.

I traded in my Audi S4 for it and I don't miss the audi at all. I'm very happy being back in a truck, and this is by far the best truck I've owned.

I can't wait to get another GX after this one gets old!

Well, yeah, the S4 was pretty tight. The front passenger seat had to go WAY forward. Very uncomfortable. With the 2nd kid on the way, there was just no way to get both in there if we needed to.

The wife drives an odyssey, so that's covered. Now I can take everyone as well.

The NSX...yeah, not exactly a kid friendly car.... or wife friendly for that matter.

Congratulations on becoming a dad!!! It's all very exciting. Enjoy every moment. Despite what you think, now is the BEST time, you'll blink and the baby will be walking, talking, and driving you up the wall. You'l blink again, and you'll be looking at colleges. I know first hand - I got a 15 and a 2 year old.

On the practical side... It sounds that the GX will be your wife's truck. It is pretty tall, and the car seat may be difficult for your wife to reach. My wife complained about that, actually still does... She would only drive with the baby if I or my older one are coming along, or if she absolutely must.

GX is an awesome truck. Bought new in 2006 and it was love from the first ride. I liked it so much that I wanted to buy a second one, but could not justify TWO $50K+ trucks in the family, so I sold my Infinity and bought a 4Runner in 2007.

I don't think the GX has changed much since 2003, except for the engine upgrade as cssnms wrote. I know for fact that the heated mirrors are standard on 06 and were optional (if at all) on 03.

Congrats again, and good luck!

Other additions that the 06 will possibly have that the 03 did not:
Rear back up camera
Bluetooth hands free compatability

These are additions only if you are considering a GX with the navigation unit.
