2004 GX470 VSC light on w/Check Engine
Any idea what might have caused both of the VSC lights on the dash and the check engine light to come on and stay. Parked it the other night for dinner and went to go home and the 3 lights were on and stay.

However, mine have come back again, so I'm wondering if I need a NEW gas cap. Seems like mine is REALLY loose...I barely have to touch it for it to come undone.

Sometimes even if the fuel tank cap is OK you get this warning, but there others also which leads to VSC warning. If you have the oppurtunity, one thing if you can jack up your car and look up to the Fuel tank, there is a hose which connects to the tank and the other end connects to the metal pipe, this hose sometime over a period of time also wears out and it has two clamps either end, to clasp the pipe, maybe you could look at if they are bit loose, as sometimes air leak also gives you this warning, whereby there is loss of pressure in the main tank, resulting you in giving you warning. This was a classic example to my car, lot went into replacing, but the warning persisted. This part was identified by a mechanic at the service station while the greasing was going on to the Rear Drive axle...cheers

Brillant
I never would have thought the VAP code would throw the VSC lights too. I ran the codes last night, 6 total. All VAPOR emission codes. Opened the gas door and my Nephew had left it loose. Just inserted, not turned.
Thanks guys for the help.

3 lights on
I had this same problem with my GS 430 and the engine was running rough and it wouldn't accelerate very quickly. But once I replaced the MAF Mass Airflow Sensor, all my problems and lights were solved...
