I am wondering can I use this when the car is in motion? If so can it be in use for 5 hrs straight?

Reason I am asking I am getting driven to NYC and I am planning to work on some projects on the way there OR should I just buy one of those cigarette lighter chargers?

I was using mine to power laptop and portable dvd player and charge nintendo ds on the trip to Colorado (from NYC) - used a regular household extension/splitter cord - 3 days approx. 12-20 hours a day. No problems. Still works.
