![Question](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
Just got my first Lexus from an individual. '05 with 74K with services every 5K from local dealer! Looks great, no wrecks, was CPO.
I need a light duty hitch for a small utility trailer. Can I bolt on a universal step bumper hitch to the four holes under the middle of the back bumper?
Also, the wiring harness plug under the rear left seems to work fine when I plugged a round-7 to flat-4 adapter into it. ?? Can I just use that for my trailer lights? All the right terminals seem to be powered correctly with running lights, blinkers and brakes.
Thanks
I'm also new to this forum stuff. Hope I'm doing this right.

Personally I would recommend getting the class 3 hitch. It's still bolt on but gives you the flexibility to tow heavier loads and you don't need to remove the hitch cover on the bumber cover. If you don't want to fork out the coin for the one Lexus sells call Toyota parts, it's the same hitch for the 4 runner. Or try your local automotive store and or ebay...

Since you have the tow package already everything should work, all you need is the adapter that plugs to your trailer connector.

This may sound too simple of a question, but how do you remove the hitch cover? Do I have to remove the whole bumber? I see blue tabs that I can get to with needle nose, but I'm afraid I'll tear them up pulling them out.
Thanks for the reply. AT least I am ahead of the game with the wiring.

Etrailer has an especially wide choice for the GX470: http://www.etrailer.com/hitch-2005_Lexus_GX470.htm
Etrailer is where I bought the hitch I have on my 2000 LS400 -- I thought their service and prices were excellent.
