2004 gx470 with 135k miles
God thinking of getting it.. The body is great the front and second row is great just the third row kids scratched the sides.. Is this truck going to last 200k miles and for 18k is it a good buy??? Any help would be good..

Seems like a ok deal. I'd try to push a little on the price. 200k miles should be no problem for the GX as long as it has been properly maintained. See if there are service records for it.

Single owner had all records from day one to 135k.. No problems just cd changer, clunk noise at 60k spindle and so. sensor for rear leveling at 75k. injection full clean 100k, and power steering flush at 100k .. brakes with 8mm all aroung All records. Fully loaded except dvd entertainment. silver with oem chrome wheels spotless. Just interior beat up in the back by kids. So out the door 19k.. Thanks for repley^

I wouldn't do it. That's a lot of miles anyway you look at it.
Keep looking for something without +20K miles on the odo per year.
You'll find another single owner, full records GX out there.
If the budget is tight, would you consider an older but lower mileage GX? Smaller RX or Toyota's 4Runner? Maybe a Sequioia?

The belt was done. also flush of all fluids. In michigan they go by fast too. The body is in mint condition. I figure it'll do 200k. Then I'll keep as a winter only truck. So i don't use my M3.. The wife will use it till 165k then the rest is just 4 months of the year. I've made a deal for 17500. I just hope it'll give me no problems for the next 35k miles..Do you think I can get 10k for it three years from now and with about 165k miles on it?

Also the person replaced the timing belt and the water pump. 1900 dollars worth of work wow.. No wonder you guys said the water pump and the timing belt is important.. Also the front brakes are 6mm and the back 8mm. How long would that take to replace?

Hey I have a 2003 GX470 w/180K on it...my dad bought it right when it came out, never maintained it like he should have (never saw the lexus dealer after he bought it, but would do the necessary oil changes, tires, and other things as needed) and essentially drove it pretty hard for its whole life. He gave it to me (im a junior in college) when he got his new car which was at about 160k miles and i have had it since. The thing runs like a beast, looks essentially brand new, shows very little wear in the car besides some wrinkles in the front drivers seat leather, and that I had to ghetto mute the two front subwoofers (mark lev. system) because I blew them both out...I love my music loud. There are almost no rattles, and besides a few dents the thing is just in great condition. It will run until 200k easy. Also, to give you an idea, we have a 2001 Toyota Land Cruiser with 235k on it which is the same deal. These Japanese vehicles just hold up incredible. I wouldnt hesitate for a second to buy a 135k GX.
