Aisin TKT-021
Crank bolt is nearly indestructible. If you need cam/cranks seals get those at a Toyota dealer.

+1 for the Aisin kit. Aisin is the original manufacturer of the parts for Toyota.
I had them replace the front main seal, the idler pulleys, and the accessory belt tensioner when I got it done the second time.

Aisin kit from Rock Auto is a solid buy, don't cheap out parts you rely on.

This truck has been incredibly reliable and I want it to continue to be, I would rather spend the money and be over cautious than have a problem with something that it would have been easier and cheaper to change at the same time as the things that will be replaced.
This is my list so far
16100-09201 Water Pump
16271-0F010 Water Pump Gasket
13568-09070 Timing Belt
13540-50030 Tensioner
90916-02585 Drive Belt
13503-0F010 Idler
13505- 0F010 Idler
90311-71002 Cam Seals
90311-A001 Crank Seal
90916-03138 Thermostat
96761-35035 Gasket
I wonder if the bypass hoses should be changed at the same time?
I welcome any and all comments and advice!

We just told you to buy the Aisin kit, any other parts you might need get from a Toyota dealer. Now you're listing off all parts from Toyota. That's fine your choice, but why do you ask for advice then ignore it?
You're wasting everyone's time.

I appreciate your advice regarding buying the Aisin timing belt kit.
I also did say in my post that I wanted to use OEM parts.
I am aware that Aisin is the OEM supplier of water pumps to Lexus.
However, I have also read posts that seem to be saying that the timing belt in the Aisin was different to
the Toyota original part and appears to be of a lesser quality ( though I accept that this is hotly debated).
The part numbers I listed were from a Lexus timing belt kit from a Lexus dealer and the parts that were included differ from the Aisin kit, it is this problem that I am seeking advice on, is the Aisin kit “bare bones” minimum or is the Lexus kit “over the top” and extravagant.
As I said in my original post I wanted to use OEM parts and the Aisin kit included non OEM parts so I was not considering using it.
I am sorry if it seems I am ignoring advice, but it was outside my frame of reference.
I have not purchased anything yet, my list is simply a starting point of discussion, ie what is missing and what I really don’t need.

I have 210K miles on my GX and have done two timing belt and water pump replacements in that time. First time was at the dealer and when I asked them what was the manufacturer of the parts they were using they told me Aisin. The second time I went to an independent Lexus/Toyota shop and they also used the Aisin kit. So far no complaints. Both times I told them if they see something else in there that needs replacing to let me know. Both times they said all looks good.
Actually the first time when I took it to the dealer and asked about the parts manufacturer, the tech came out and told me to never sell the GX because the drivetrain is bulletproof and will easily go past 500K miles as long as you take care of it.

I replaced the timing belt and I also replaced the fan pulley bracket, water pump, crank seal, thermostat, tensioner, idler pulleys, and drive belt.
All of the above were OEM parts.
Thought about just ordering the Aisin kit, which I believe is the same, but I stuck with OEM, as it is my wife's car.
If I was the one driving it, I would have just used the Aisin kit.
God Bless,
David B.

I have read of so many people replacing the timing belt at 120k, 130k, 150k. Is the 90K recommendation way too conservative and with the time tested proof in the wild with all these high mile GX's, plan to change at least at 100-110k especially for those who live in yearly temperate climate like SoCal? Has anyone had a timing belt break at under 120K between changes? I remember reading about someone having a break but it was way higher mileage between changes. If I recall right was around 160K.
I am still planning on changing at 90-95k miles (currently completed two timing belt changes and at 223K) but was just a question for thought.

The factory belt seems to be OK going a little long on changes. Aftermarket belts are an unknown.
