May have overfilled GX470 oil.. your thoughts?
So this long 3 day weekend, I decided to change the oil in the GX as part of my DIY 30K service routine. Oil was up first. All went well until I went to top it off with the last 1/2 quart. I was too hasty and didn't read the bottle carefully - the side is marked from 0 to 800ml, so I poured in enough until the bottle was down to 400ml... Then I noticed that there is 946ml to a quart, not 800ml. As we all know, the manual states that the GX takes 6.5 quarts, therefore it takes 6,148ml of oil. I put in roughly 6,222. In quarts, this is roughly 6.57 quarts. The dipstick is definitely reading high.
Thoughts? My good car buddy said this shouldn't be a problem as overfilling by .07 quarts was hardly anything to worry about. I'd like to think he's right.

He is right. Not enough overfill to worry about. You mostly worry about foaming, splashing and pressure with too much oil in the pan as the pistons come down toward the pan. Unlike with too little oil, when sloshing will cause to expose oil pickup and cause drop in oil pressure. If you would overfill by lets say two quarts, or more, I would worry. The pistons going up and down can push that oil past the rings into the cylinders and other issues can arise. Think of a syringe filled with water.
According to your calculations you've put about half of a can of red bull (small can - 250ml) of too much oil. YOU CAN LIVE WITH THAT.

I am pretty sure the '05 (mine) and the '07 (yours) models take the same amount of oil. I wonder why you need 7 quarts?
Edited to add - just tested things out this weekend. So far so good. Drove maybe 40 miles round trip. I've read that any problems with cavitation, etc, show up pretty quickly - 40 to 70 miles. Figure if I'm going to have an issue, it's going to show pretty soon. Nothing bad so far.
