Smile What is required for 60K service for 2003 GX470

Hello :

I am new to this forum and new to Lexus GX. I bought a 2003 GX 470 which is now 62K and I need to get the 60K service done. I'd appreciate comments from the people who already have crossed this 60K mark on their GX 470s about what is MUST required in this service, the things that I need to take care of and from where should I get the service done--Lexus dealer or Toyota dealer?. I am in Alberta Canada and drove this from California to Alberta.

Thanks in advance to all for reply.

First I have always used the Lexus dealer mainly they have done a great job and they are trust worthy, I don't mind paying a little more for the customer service.

I also have stuck to what the manual has recommended for service, The main things I would do at 60K is oil change, air filter, cabin air filter, tire rotation, transaxle fluid change.

Also complete inspection of all the standard stuff, brakes, coolant, plugs, etc.

Hope this helps.

First, welcome to the forum.

Second, perform the work that is recommended in your owner's manual. This topic has been discussed many times before. Use the "Search" function and do some research. Here's a thread to get you started....

Lexus is Toyota, so it really dosen't matter where you get the work done. Toyota is more than capable of changing out your fluids. Their lounge isn't as nice, they don't serve cookies and drinks, but you will save 30% on your bill. I go to both dealers depending on my mood and the type/amount of work I plan to do. e.g. had brake pads and rotors replaced at Toyota, oil changed at either, tire balancing at Lexus (only because they have a better machine, Toyota could NEVER get my tires balanced) Good luck

Consider tanny fluid change if you tow or if you have OCD like me

Check the V belt and replace if neccessary.
