JD you say you have the toyota filter at 5/- from the dealer, make sure what part you are getting, There are two variants available.
1. 90915-YZZD4 - Made in Thailand. Cost 5/-
2. 90915-20004 - Made in Japan - Cost 11/-

The latter one architecture is much better when you compare them. The parts are much better quality.

My first oil change was with the YZZD4, no complaints works fine. Now that I am using syn and extending it to 7500 I switched to the 20004. You can look inside them and there is a difference. 20004 has a foam core instead of paper. The guys on the Landcruiser forum love them and are always trying to get them. My dealer found 20 in the US so I got 5 of them.
