Gas usage 2007 GX 470
I have 2007 GX470 and millage I get is not as spec say. Full tank, 23 gallons, is only good for 250 miles (driving on streets), which is only 10.86 miles a gallon, suppose to 14-15 miles a gallon. Millage on my Lexus is 77,000. I do not drive mo than 35 mph on the streets.
Anybody having the same kind of problem or its only me? Is it normal?
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

That seems a bit low unless you gun it a lot.
I would check the simple things.
Clean air filter.
Tire pressure and alingment.
Run a couple tanks injector cleaner through her. I use the Cherveron brand.

Just because the gas tank takes 23 gallons, it does not mean you used it all. Always, use the number of gallons it took to fill the gas tank full.
Also, the winter time is not the best time to validate MPG.

I try to check my mileage every time I fill the tank. Recently I filled it to the brim, got about 300 miles out of it, filled it back up and only put in 18.9 gallons which means based on the low end of the stick, I should have had 4 gallons @ 15 mpg = another 60 miles. That said, my driving is nearly 50/50 city/hwy so I feel pretty good about these numbers (esp. in the winter, when I have to unlock the diff. alot). Still, I get much better mileage in the GX than that of my wifes' 99 4Runner...plus the bigger tank makes going to the pump every other week much more bearable than the almost every week we take hers to the pump.
Sorry about that tangent...long story short, you're probably getting better mileage than you think, but I would run the same checks that jditom mentioned to make sure everything's cleaned out and such.

Following the information on the computer, we are averaging 18.3mpg for city/highway over the last 3 fill-ups. That is taking it very easy (no gunning). That said, I am not sure how accurate is the computer about calculating mpgs.

I've checked about 20 tankfulls by the mathmatical method and compared them to the onboard computer. I don't recall exactly (though I've posted it here before) but the computer is about 1.5 MPG OPTIMISTIC. I've seen posts where others have found the same thing.
To the OP, it's very hard to say whether or not your mileage is normal. How much fuel did you actually use (per ChrisK's comment)? What was your average MPH?

2004 GX470 with 62k miles, I get about 240 miles on 17 gallons(im afraid to run it too low)with mostly city driving. That puts me at appx. 14 MPG's. I recommend the LUCAS injector cleaner at least every 3k.
