Default African Outback Roof Rack on GX

I just installed the AO roof rack on the GX. I had to drill different holes in the rail, but not to bad. Here are some pic's.

That's cool! Much wind noise?

I was looking @ Thule's "rails" the other day, thinking it might be kind of fun to install them. They're similar to the rails you had to install, only they're designed for quick-mount of thule crossbars.

Very nice.
A great place to put your spare tire and a jerry can when offroading.

Where did you get it?

Not much wind noise. I have not been on the highway yet, but around town I can not here anything with the sunroof closed.

I got it at Slee Offroad. They have it on sale. It is the one for the 4Runner.

I do have a top rail that goes all the way around it as well. I am not intalling it now because I could not get it in the garage.

Hey Tex,

Looks great!
Why/where did you have to drill new holes?

The rail holes for the 4R did not line up with the mounting holes of the GX. I had to drill two new set of holes on each rail.

I like the rack, but it looks odd with the stock wheels/tires. Get a nice off road set-up on the ground and it will look very nice!

Tires are next. I just need the Michellin Cross Terrains to wear down.
