Yep, my brother experienced this first hand last year. The Honda he bought had a clean CarFax report, he got rear ended and the repair shop showed him the damage that the car previously incurred.

I personally have heard of a number of examples, including a friend who bought a Supra as a basket case after it had sat partially parted out in a NJ salvage yard for about 2 years, then he rebuilt it, wrecked it, fixed it, wrecked it again, fixed it, and it STILL has a perfect Carfax report. LOL
