You said you install 3 sets of HID. I guess you installed high beam as well?

i did. i will have to pop in the original highbeam bulbs when i go to get the vehicle inspected. the HIDs take a few seconds to warm up and that would make the vehicle fail inspection.

Great job with the posting. I am planning to order and install some HID fog lights next week. I had the Sylvania Silverstar bulbs in place, but one of them burned out in less than a year. I installed the HID low beams last year. I really like the way your side step led lights looked in the pics. i will be ordering the led lights as well. Thanks!!!

Talking

the HIDs involve a bit of work but it's well worth it. the LEDs are really easy

also: the ones i bought are no longer available from that vendor on eBay my buddy was blown away by mine and asked me if i could get some for him so i looked into it and ordered more from ebay. the vendor's name is xk-led and they're based in illinois. i ended up ordering a few 8 packs of SMD LEDs. can't wait for them to get here. soon my GX is going to have LEDs in every interior light!. i just have to figure out how to get to the ones in the aftermarket DVD player and i'll be completely LEDed out!!!!

wow! i replaced the original LEDs with the SMD LEDs that i ordered. now i'm waiting on the LEDs that i ordered to replace the ones in the aftermarket DVD player.

don't mind all the pollen

all the door lights look like this

have to find the replacement LEDs for this. looks silly with incandescent bulbs while the rest are LEDs

map lights

license

trunk/cargo area

this is what the new ones look like:
the original ones consisted of just one LED and had diffusers on them. i'd post a pic of them but i used them all in my buddy's car

Default Got mine replaced also from HIDeXtra.com

HID stuff from Michelle (HIDeXtra.com), H11 and H3 are both 6000k they match up pretty well, cheap and looks great, DRL and LEDs from (V-leds).

I can order the bulbs, but I'm really not confident to install them myself.
Is there any dealer that can do this work in Seattle area?

sorry i quoted myself but as it turns out i purchased an HID relay from HIDExtra and installed it wired to my highbeams. worked out well, my GX passed with flying colors. the dude doing the inspection even complimented me on the HIDs

Yo LZ,
Sorry to reply to an old post.but I've combed the internet with no luck changing the running board light on my 08 GX470.
Tonight I went underneath the running board to see how the heck am supposed to change the running board lights. What I saw below was astonishing. I can't even get my hand to where the bulb is or see the bulb. It seems as if I would have to unbracket the entire assembly to get to the bulb. Is that the case ?

Can you please share some wisdom on how to please accomplish this.

Thanks

I had to drill a hole through the casing to run the wires for the fog lights as well. The HID fog lights were bright. I just drove from LA to SF on I5 and they made a huge difference.

Anyone else use the HID kit form HID-extra website? For 44.00 shipped just seems like a cheap kit that may not last?? Im looking at getting a set of 5K bullbs to replace my 4300's and pick up a 5K HID H3 kit for my Fogs? I cannot believe 2 HID bulbs for only 35.00 blows my mind they are so cheap
