Default Are all the years of third row seats the same?

Hi. I'm new to the forum and about to buy a 2004 GX470 that has all the brackets, etc. for the third row seats, but is just missing the seats themselves. I found a brand new pair of third-row seats locally for a 2007 GX. Will those seats work in my 2004? Did they change the brackets, mechanisms, etc. in any way between 2004 and 2009 or would any year's seats work?

Thanks for any help with this.

Dazz,
Not sure if you have bought the seats yet, but just a little advice. I have them and they are in plastic in my closet, never having been sat in. Keep in mind since there is no foot well for them in the back only young children will really be comfortable. Most grown ups will sit with their knees up toward their chest somewhat. I really did not want them but they came along with rear AC but I don't use them.

jjudd,

Since you're not using the third row seats, did you notice improved mpg?

I'd like to know this too. I drive around with the 3rd row installed and get around 17 to 18 mpg from what I can tell. (I have yet to do a real study with Excel)

If it improves to 20, I think it would be worth me taking the seats out and leaving them out.

I would think losing about 80 pounds (third row seats) off the back of the GX would help.

Not a big difference. I average between 17-18 mpg around town and have squeezed out 20 on interstate trips. I keep them out mainly for the extra cargo room. If I ever need to haul a bunch of grand kids I guess I will have to put them back in.

Wow! I thought it might help. Oh well, I still plan on taking them out as I rather have the cargo space.
