Not sure If anyone has talked about this but here it goes. I have an 04 with a build date of 11/03. Now It is technically an 04 but what some people may find out the hard way is When I order parts it is for an 03. Case and point being bulbs, cabin air filter etc. for an 04 won't fit my GX Only 03 parts. They seem to have changed a lot of the little things from 03 to 04. I also have NAV without the rear camera. I guess besides giving some time saving info to 04 owners with the early build dates- My question is why all the confusion with changing things just 5 months into a model year. Rule of thumb- forget what your title says- If your 04 was built 11/03 than use 03 info for all parts. O.K. I'm exhausted

You are correct - my first GX was a '2004 model' built in 11/03 just like yours. My 2nd GX is also a 2004 model (built in 04/04) and it has the backup camera plus the TPMS system (which I wish it didn't have, but that's for another thread.....). I believe the KDSS option was also introduced in the '2nd generation 2004' models but initially it was hard to find one equipped that way. It's almost like they didn't have the 2004 'upgrades' ready in time to release in the fall of 2003 so the early 2004s were just like the rest of the 2003 production

I'm surprised this issue dosen't come up more often. My first experience was during my test drive and trying to figure out why the reverse camera wasn't working- Because it didn't have one. O.K. I thought it was an isolated late model addition, but than was the front turn signal bulb was a totally different style. My question is quite simple. Why not finish the year 04 without the changes and just implement all the changes for a fresh 05? And why not list it somewhere in the owners manuel for the 11/03 build dates. I have noticed only a few online auto part sites list parts for 03-04(11/03) and than 04(4/04) -09. I guess finding out with the wrong bulb in hand is better than having an engine part dismantled and wondering why something won't fit.
