Default Issue with Turn Signal Bulb

I've got a 2008 GX470 with 38K miles. My problem is that the driver's side front turn signal has quit now for the fifth time! The first 3 times, the dealer's shop said that it was a loose bulb, the was some grit in the socket (which there should not be), etc. The fourth time they replaced the wiring harness. Yesterday, the bulb went out for the fifth time. This is occurring every 4-6K miles. Anyone aware of any recurrent problems like this? Any suggestions as to what to tell the shop this time?? I use my vehicle exclusively on city/highway driving. No off/rough road at all. Thanks for your suggestions and help. Stan

Try using LED bulbs instead?

Default GX470 turn signals - question about LEDs

Elsewhere on this site it says that switching to LED provokes other issues - hyper flash?
I'm replacing one or the other of my front turn signal bulbs about every 6 months.

Switching to LEDs will cause hyperflash unless you also install a load resistor or replace the blinker module with a LED-friendly one.

Where are you buying your replacement bulbs? I have a personal theory that the bulbs installed at the factory last a lot longer than the replacements you can get at Autozone, etc.

Buying them at the local auto parts store, not the dealer. I may try the dealer next time.
