Default Brakes and Rotors.... Info please...

'04 GX 470 that is driven by "grandma" on weekends and Mr. Magoo on weekdays.

Has orginal miles of 71K.

Maybe time for....

New brakes only...OEM or other?
New rotors only....OEM or other?
New brakes and new rotors front and rear?

Unit has been hassle free..no issues...

Brand new tires...balanced...only 3 months old...Miches!

Notice a vibration in steering wheel....

Suggestions, recommendations..greatly appreciated!

Unit looks like it just left the showroom floor....has never been ran into the ground...

what I read recently, stick w/ OEM rotor & brake on this car or at least OEM brake.

check how much pads left you have, then you can decide from there.

some pics of GX ??

Looking good!

Lets see original 71K on pads rotors no issues...........Hmmm No brainer to me! Slap on some new OEM Pads/rotors and be good for another 71K. Some people will tell you just to turn rotors but then they are thinner and you are asking for them to warp on you! Avoid the hassles and do Pads/rotors and enjoy

Nice looking truck! I have the same color and appear to be just as **** as you about keeping it clean and maintained.

Brakes have been discussed at nausium on here. If you have otherwise been happy with the performance of your brakes stick with OEM rotors and pads. IMO there is no better option available unless you want to replace your entire braking system with a big brake kit.

Tip,,, take your truck to Toyota and save yourself 25%. The rotors and pads are the same found on a 4-Runner.

Very nice. All the factory chrome wheels are out west WTF. Very rare here in the northeast(I want a set) probably due to the weather. I just bought drilled/slotted rotors from Ebay for $100 for pair. Akebono ceramic pads. OEM's are probably better but much more expensive. Either way- Good luck, Its a beautiful truck.

Thank you everyone for the comments and feedback. Cost is not the issue but the "warping" issue is...sounds like to me not to ever have the rotors turned....

OEM's or aftermarket? Just want to make the right choice.....

Thanks everyone for the input.....

just like CSSNMS said, go to a Toyota dealer and have done there. Much cheaper, and use the money you've just save to make a charity. Why give it to the Lexus dealer? Same parts with the 4Runner. I've posted that info some time ago.

If you got 71k mi out of your OEM rotors and they are just now showing signs of run-out, that is pretty darn good, so if you have otherwise been happy I would recommend sticking with the OEM.

Take it from me,,, I have been through 2 different aftermarket rotors, both failed miserably, so I am back to OEM.
