The SC330 convertible is officially confirmed through our sources and will be a 2003 model. It should be available by Oct./Nov. 2002.

The RX 300, GS300, IS300 and ES300 change to RX330, GS330, IS330 and ES330 next year.
Lexus is seriously considering an all-wheel drive option on all models of their cars. Look for it to appear first on the GS series.

They have a hybrid engine under development for the next generation RX300 (coming in October 2003 as a 2004 model…we may even see the prototype at the 2003 Detroit Auto show) that gets over 30MPG AND puts out 240HP!!!!

There is a great detailed video of the upcoming GX470 sport utility at the Lexus website.

If you’re not on the list for one of these you should be. The demand will FAR outstrip the supply of these and should be another car that will be going for over sticker for at least the first six months after its release. If you own an LX470, you’d better dump it now because when the GX470 shows up, it is going to kill the value of the LX. Why? You ask. Because for most people, the GX will do everything the LX does for significantly less. And it’s much bigger inside and the third seat is far superior than the one in the LX. On the flip side, if you’ve been waiting to find a bargain on a used LX, you’re going to have a field day ‘Low balling’ all the LX owners who are going to get crushed on re-sale.

They burned LX470 owners

First of all, I've never known a Lexus dealer to gouge over retail on any model no matter how popular. Secondly, AFAIK the 3rd row seating is exactly the same in the GX as it has been in the LX. Lastly, this is not going to put the LX (essentially a Landcruiser) out to pasture. The GX is simply a midsized SUV that will be positioned between the RX and the LX (in size and price). This article seems a bit geared towards sensationalism to me. I am looking forward to the GX though...
