Default Hot Air blowing

Hi,
I had my 2006 GX 470 in for 30k service last month. Cabin Filter was replaced.

Now with the temp set to 68 degrees, outside air on, the vent(AC off) blows hot air, usually when using the car first time in the day. Sometimes, after a while, cool air starts blowing in. I feel something changed after the service. If I set the temp to MAX Cold it blows cool air. I have had this car since 2006 and not seen this behavior.

Currently its cold in California so outside air should not be hot at all. I also experienced this when it was snowing outside, during our Reno trip.

Any idea?

Do you have the A/C light blinking on the panel when this symptom occurs, if so, replace the AC Magnetic Relay( location in the Engine Bay Fuse Box ) . There is a TSB to this, as certain model had the similar probs, I was one among them. cheers

I found this on another lexus site!

The bad relay is part number 90987-02022 and the label inside the fuse box lid is "MG CLT" which stands for "magnetic clutch". It has to be replaced with part number 90987-02028 (according to LEXUS Technical bulletin EL009-05) which will cost between $70 and $100

I don't see the AC light blink. Does that mean it is not the bad relay as you guys say?

I will check that guys. But in the meantime I had taken the car in to the dealership service dept. They said I need to replace the AC Servo Temp Mixer. $1000 cost. I said I will wait. Want to get a second opinion/quote. I still feel something got screwed up during last months major service there since this problem started right after I picked it up.

Anyone has replaced this AC Servo Temp Mixer? Did it solve the problem and how much was the cost? Any pointers?
