No more payments, it is finally MINE!!!
Finally!!! After 59 months of painful payments I sent the last check to LFS (Lexus Financial Services) and got the title on Friday!!!

I swore off car payments about five years ago. I remember how sick I felt donating several hundred dollars a month to the bank and how good it felt to get that pretty title in the mail.
Congrats on the achievement. Credit score bumpy bump! Score!

It feels great to be free from monthly painments!!!
And we will keep the GX for a while. In my wife's words: "I plan to drive this thing into the ground". Hopefully, that will take a looooong while...
I doubt that I will manage to stay payment free for a while - my older son just turned 17, and he has his eye on my 4Runner. So may be in 6 months to a year I'll start looking for a new truck.

To the OP - congratulations on paying off the car! Did you happen to calculate what you paid in total plus interest?
This is the key - if you can buy the car with cash, then you can afford the car. 0% financing is cool too, if you can get it.

Now since your car is paid in full, pay yourself $500 a month and put this into the saving account, untill you have enough cash to buy another car. Maybe its not the smartest way to do but thats how I paid full cash price for my GX. Instead of leasing cars I always buy them and I keep them for atleast 48 month. 48x500$=24k plus the value of the car.

I hate payments, and this is why I only make 1 full payment when buying a car, but this comes also at a cost of buying a previously loved vehicle.

Let's see... $600 x 60 = $36000 + $15000 down = $51000. I'm sure its a little more, as there were all sorts of fees tacked on, but $51K is a fairly accurate number.
