Mark Lev/Nav or not...
Looking to buy a used GX and of course the non-Mark Levinson/Nav ones are less money. I am familiar with the Mark Lev system but haven't heard the standard system. Is it still pretty decent and also can it still play XM?

XM can be added to any car stereo system. 11 vs 14 speakers in ML system and probably amplier. The upside of having the ML/NAV is the backup camera. Comes in handy when parking.

back camera is the only upside. otherwise i think you would be further ahead with aftermarket solutions. the nav really sucks compared to what is now available for $200 at best buy.

fwiw..having just bought a 2006 for my wife with ML/Nav/Cam for me it was a mandatory. Also may want to consider resale. Talked to more than a few dealers who said resale time on those without the ML/Nav/Cam is quite a bit longer. Nav works fine..cutting edge no..ML is well a ML..sweet. But the back-up cam is really a nice add. I have one on my 2011 Jeep GC and would never own another SUA without it. Happy hunting!

QUOTED FOR TRUTH!!! i have an ML system and i never use it. i rely on my garmin....the lifetime updates for it were cheaper than buying the latest update disc for the ML nav system.

For what its worth, I absolutely love the Mark Levinson sound system. Its worth every penny and comparing it to other SUVs in this category, bose and whatever just didn't stack up. The nav and the backup camera are crowd pleasers. How often do you really need map guidance anyways?
