How much should I offer for 2008 GX
Hi all,
I found a 2008 GX470 with 47k miles at the local Honda dealer and they have it for around 6 months on their lot. I would like to know how much should I offer them? They wanted $39,000 then lowered it to $35,900. It has Nav, back up camera, no Mark Levison or sport package. I'm thinking around $33k since they want to move it but they use their BS excuse about quakes in Japan and high demand of used car market.
Thanks,

I just bought an 08 CPO 40,000 miles, picking it up tomorrow. Mine has Nav/Levinson 3rd row. Dealer had a price on $36,999 on the sticker. My deal involved a trade so the only thing that counts there is the net cost plus trade. $34,000 was the contact price minus trade. I think $35,900 for a non CPO is too much money. The dealer I bought this from - and my RX, has several 08's and I'm sure you could buy any of them for $35,900 CPO.

I bought my '03 about 5 yrs ago. It had 36K on the odom and CPO from the same place kalcris is buying his '08 from. When I first looked at it, the price marked on it was $38K so i didn't purse it until a few weeks later after they dropped the price to $34K. My GX has NAV, ML and 3rd row seating. It didn't come with entertainment or towing package. I was able to get it for $29,500 with a trade for a 96 4runner with 160K miles on it. I had tranmission issue on the 4runner and the paint had pitting from sap hardeing on the clear coat so getting a $2,500 credit was great for me. I think paying $36K is pretty high for non-cpo...my other option was a private seller who had an '04 with 38K on the odom but he wouldn't drop below $29K on his. Obviously he didn't have any warranty either.

They will most likely come back to you with a counter offer. Give them a day or two... Not that many buyers today are looking for a full sized V8 powered SUV. Even less are looking for a Lexus SUV at a Honda dealer...

Hold strong on your offer. SNHRPH is right, It has been on the lot for over 6 months for a reason. Its a great truck, But Honda has it overpriced.
