Thanks - I was feeling a little bullet proof today and decided to tackle that driver door.
While the motor had a white cap instead of black, the shaft was identical to the other.
Based on another thread, I dug out the ole dremmel and proceeded to shape the shaft and then snipped it to length - so far so good.
While peeking in and working to get the new motor onto the pins, I noticed all the guts were loose and the gear was not doing it's thing.
I snapped it shut and pulled on the cable to test it and sure enough, it laughed at me.
After some additional work I was able to get the entire cover off and proceed to realign all of the gears and pegs and levers (oh my).
I'll add a photo of that mess just in case it helps someone know what to avoid doing.
This seemed to be a fairly simple puzzle, until one has to try and get the top of the case back on while lining up a moving peg into a moving hole without jumbling everything out of whack. Needless to say I broke a lot of stuff, but on about the 100th try it seemed like I had all of the parts just right...well close enough to live to fight another day.
The only thing not working is the physical key-lock/unlock and the inside door manual lock/unlock lever - pretty sure some guts got out of whack or broken.
But hey! The auto-door and key fob lock/unlock work on the drivers door which is what I was trying to fix - job complete!
This was a fun weekend, but I think I'll buy the full actuators - at least I'm certain i can get a new one in/out and not have to pay labor fees for this repair...
