? where to purchase some skid plate bolts
Well all I can say is no matter what type of car/truck you buy when it goes in for service no one takes care of it like you would.
I had my truck in for service and about a month ago I popped open the hood and realized that they never put back the bolts for the covers that cover the engine. I was a bit pissed and called. They told me that it wasn't them but I could make an appointment and they would fix it. So I did.
Now hubby decided to do his own oil change because I was tired of getting my truck back with it grease on the handles and just dirty. So he changed the oil only to find out that the bolts to the skid plate 3 are missing. Give me a break. What I want to know is there a website that I can order these from and do you know the sizes that I would need?
Oh here's something else I found amusing. While at the dealership I had a salesman follow me all around the showroom. I thought it was a bit odd but he finally came up to me and asked if it was my GX in for service. I said it was and he said it was one of the cleanest trucks that he has seen. My truck is kept pristine. The truck is an 06 fully loaded with everything you could have gotten and 37000 miles on it. He asked if I would be interested in a new one and I played the game and said while I wait give me some numbers. This guy came back and said he had a great deal for me....he would allow 20,000 for my trade and charge me full price for a new truck. I told him if he could buy my truck for 20,000 and he could find 3 more like it I would buy them myself.....Give me a break really? I guess I was wearing my moron shirt that day.

I was missing one bolt for the plastic skid plate that sits just right in front of the metal assembly - I think it's a 10mm bolt. I bought a replacement that works great from the local hardware store. You could do the same and likely it'll work fine.

I think steel skid plate is on by four 10mm bolts about 25mm or 1" long (to fit 14mm socket).
When I bought my GX, I had it towed home from a local Lexus dealer and I had to go back 3 times for parts that they've removed and didn't included with vehicle. First one was easy, top engine cowl/cover. Week after I went back to get the front steel skid plate. Three months later while I was finishing the engine, big fan pulley that serpentine belt is riding on was missing. They were able to find all of the parts and called back the original owner that they did find them and they are ready for pick up.
Sears Harware stores now have the best metric bolt/nut selections in black, stainless, zinc & chrome plated steel.
