What did you do to your GX TODAY?

Thanks guys! Rz, nice combo you there too buddy, you have a black RX too right? I think I saw it in another thread. I love black cars! Mine's both black on black. I hope to add a 2nd gen GS430 soon as a daily sedan.

Thanks! That's correct my wife drives a black on black rx350. The sc400 is a 1997 black on black also. I'm in Canada so the sc is a rare bird. 1997 was the last year here for them and they sold very few of them. The GX is a 2004. It has the tan interior unfortunately. I really wish they made a black interior. If I don't end up buying another one with the charcoal grey interior my plan was to do a two tone Black and Tan interior. I think some of the sport models came with a black upper dash and tan lower? I would like to duplicate that look with a few cans of SEM.
We had a 2nd gen gs300 for a few years. I think it was a 2000? It was a great car. My wife drove that before we had kids and switched over to rx's. We are on our 3rd now. When we sold the GS I was really torn on what car to get rid of. I was very tempted to keep the GS and slap on a turbo. In the end I kept the sc.

H9 to H11 low beam conversion
I did the conversion today. About 20% brighter.

Ordered the bulbs from Home Depot

All I had to do was grind down the little plastic tab with dremel tool. I did this on a prius and sienna already. All the bulbs still work after year and a half. The wires do not get hot. I checked it with my hand.
A cheap and simple way to get brighter w/o going hid.

Today I tinted my driving lights. Unfortunately I ran out of time to finish my headlights. The plan for those is a light smoke tint. The jury is still out on this one. I'll wait till the headlights are done but as of right now the yellow really clashes with orange side markers. I may just do them in a matching smoke tint.
I have already installed hids for all of the lights. The high and low beams are 6000k and the fogs are 3000k. This picture was prior to installing the tint.

Did you use Lamin-X or similar to tint the lenses? When I get a burnt out bulb to give me a reason, I'm going to put yellow bulbs in the fogs, rather than tint the lenses. That way it's only visible at night, and there should be no clashing of colors, and not film to limit light output.
I did use Lamin-X to tint the fog lenses of our old Legacy wagon though, and I really liked the results there.

I managed to finish up my headlight project today. Things ended up going a different route than I had planned. The laminx tint on the headlights was not the look I was after. Instead I ended up removing the front bumper and headlights. The inside of the housings were painted gloss onyx black to match the truck. For the reflectors I ended up tinting those with the laminx.
While I was at it I opened up the fog lights also. The interior in those minus the reflector were also painted black. I ended up leaving the yellow laminx on the lenses for the time being. The look is starting to grow on me. They have a 3000k hid bulb in them so they will still be bright yellow if I decide to remove the film.
