What did you do to your GX TODAY?

Can you provide a list of all suspension parts you got to make it look like this and where you got them from? How is the ride quality? Is it firm or soft?

It is an OME Conversion. I bought it from Rock Road Outfitters. http://www.rocky-road.com/gx470-lift-kit.html. I bought the medium duty suspension. My air bags quit working and I decided to get rid of them. The ride it good, I would say more on the stiffer side.

How/where do you tie the antenna down to clear the garage or other overhead obstacles?

I've been waiting to add to this conversation. I purchased mine this weekend. 2005 with 190K miles. A garage kept soccer mom machine to this point. I wanted blue on gray with no nav more than anything and found this a half mile away from home...t'was fate. I love it already.

Thanks Tdoll!
Apinnix- what are you thinking for your nav unit? I plan to eventually go the 2 din head-unit route. Kenwood just released a model with wireless Apple/Android CarPlay.

I’ve found a few little options. I had AA/CarPlay in my old car and become very spoiled by it. Mine was the Pioneer 8100nex and it wasn’t wireless (that’s awesome, btw) but i loved it. It looks like my best option to keep that in a head unit is pioneer’s new single din AA/CarPlay unit (the AVH-3300, i think). That would force me to get one of the GROM adapters and move the tape deck to the glove box. The only issue i foresee is the flip out screen blocking the climate controls.

Well all I've done so far is fire up the credit card, but the wheels are in motion to convert to rear FJ Cruiser springs using the SSO kit, and switch up to the FJ Cruiser 8-hole OEM wheels with some stock sized Duratracs before snow flies.
The rear air suspension was starting to air out when the truck sat, it would pump back up after a minute or so, but I'm taking it as a sign of trouble on the horizon, and dealing with it before it's a problem.
The tires have done about 90,000kms and still have meat left, but new tires will obviously be much better in the winter. The old FJC wheels are starting to bubble and peel, so rather than refinish them I'll change up the look and sell the old ones as is. Going back to stock sized rubber as this is the wife's daily driver, and any performance and/or fuel economy gains are more useful to us than the bigger rubber (which did look awesome).

Good morning, first time post here. Picked up my 2006 GX470 with 86,000 miles this past February. What a phenomenal vehicle! Had a '97 Land Cruiser and regret the day I sold it.
Anyway, had the air suspension replaced this week with conventional coils, did the TPMS bypass trick, and picked up leather covers for my seat armrests from Amazon.
Thanks for all the great postings, CL is a great resource for owners.
Looking forward to putting on another 200,000 miles on it (current Sequoia has 290,000 miles),
Regards, Joe

Rear spring conversion happened last night, used the SSO kit with both shims, FJ Cruiser rear springs, and OEM spring isolators. Had to cut off the rear swaybar endlinks off though, so I wasn't able to get it back on the wheels last night. I found a set of Moog's locally so I'll grab them on my way home. Also replaced the squealing rear brake pads with OEM ones, And a quick test fit of the new wheels just for fun!
I'm also going to look into deleting the roof rack, I've seen a few pics online and I like the look. I'm also hoping it might cut down on how badly it gets blown around on the highway by crosswinds, and if it got even half a mpg extra that would be fine too, lol. Here's a couple of pics I found the other day of one with the rack deleted.
