Plasti dipped my grill Although, later on I decided to leave the "L" badge chrome, so I pilled off the plastic on the badge and it is now chrome))

Throw up a pic of the plastidipped grille with chrome emblem. I want to see how that looks.

I'm thinking of trying to paint the emblem black pearl on a plastidipped grille, I was just going to buy one but the are over $100 for a pearl black emblem!

Sure, I'll do it today in the evening when I'm back home where the car is sitting at the moment.

BTW, do you have weathertech mats or liners? I'm thinking of getting liners or mats. Liners from weathertech are almost a double price compared to their mats. I don't know if liners are worth it.

I have the digital fit liners, and they are excellent. The mats are nothing special.

Changed my trans fluid today using this method
Except, I bought rectangular 2 clear gallon containers meant for water in the fridge at dollar general ($3 each) and measured the old fluid against the new stuff, therefore replacing what came out. I used 3 gallons of Valvoline full synthetic fluid.

Campfire, was it pretty close volume when it came to the temperature?
It is my understanding that if it was as simple as measuring what came out and replace with the same amount, why would there be a temp check procedure when filling with new fluid?
Thanks for posting the link to video!
Do you feel any changes in how tranny shifts?

I didn't bother to do that check. I just replaced it out equally. I had a shudder, which is pretty common in gx470's so I added https://www.ebay.com/itm/Lubegard-19...72.m2749.l2649
I'll post in a few days how it's shifting.

Took the GX out for some fun in the National Forest. Just finished changing diff and transfer case fluids and greasing the six driveline points. The grease coming out of the u-joints was a satisfying black color.

Finally got her headlights cleaned up at Sam's club.

Before

After

But of course ... there's now this strange intermittent buzzing noise coming from the shifter area in the console that it's never done before. So I'm trying to figure that out. Maybe the tech couldn't figure out how the shifter worked and messed it up somehow?

Hey Everyone. New to this Lexus Forum. Just picked up a 2005 GX470, pretty solid, no rust, low miles only 128K and timing belt was already done. Took a while to find a good one with no rust issues and timing belt done, I swear I looked at 10 of these things and I only found 2 that I was considering and went with this one! So first thing I've done was replace the old foggy headlights with Sport Model Headlights, came out great and pretty easy install too, I also replaced the OEM wheels with Toyota 4Runner Wheels that were brand new, couldn't believe how cheap they were and fit and look great. Here are my pics. Hope everyone likes

Headlights already done and yellow vinyl added to fogs but OEM Wheels on

New 4Runner OEM Wheels after, too bad the Lexus caps don't fit, solution to come

Congrats on the purchase! Looks great!
How much did you pay for the wheels? If you find the solution on Lexus caps, please let us know)

Thanks Lextazy! I paid $425 shipped for the new oem 4runner wheels. The truck already had new tires on it when I bought it so I just swapped the tires onto the new wheels, I'll wait until I need new tires before I get some nice offroad style tires.
