Based on the information I provided, and the part that is broken, does that match up with my issue?

It very well could. You might consider getting a Techstream setup and/or something like OBD Fusion to actually pull the diagnostic codes from the suspension ECU. It would tell you if there were other issues as well.

Ha. Well, if that sensor being completely broken as I described can throw off the entire system so it's just sitting on the bump stops then it sounds like we have a winner.

The only part that seems kinda weird is the air compressor trying to kick on but not being able to, however, if the sensor being broken makes the compressor not work, then again, sounds like we got it. Thoughts?

Ended up buying both rear sensors. Figure they cannot be that difficult to install once the wheels are off. Thanks again everyone.

out of thoughts....if you want the truck to work ASAP might just have to consult with your dealer rather than chasing he problems... compressor might be history from over work....you can always get under the truck...lift he broken linkage with your hand and see what happens...

Well, it's been cold as **** here, so I ponied up and drove my GX to my buddy's shop. He charged me $45 bucks to put the sensors on. She rides like a dream, except I am monster truckin around. Going to play with the sensors this weekend and it get back to normal. Hahaha, it looks ridiculous.

Thanks for the help everyone.

Does anyone have photos of the sensors how they come from the factory on the GX? Having trouble getting my back end back to stock ride height.

Default Active Test for Air Suspension (techstream)

Hi, I am still trying to diagnose an issue with the ride quality of my GX and wanted to see if anyone has run the active tests using techstream for the air suspension. Specifically, there is an active test for height control and when I attempt to do the test in techstream nothing happens. However, when I use the switch on the console the height control works. Also, there is an active test for exhaust solenoid, and most of the time I can turn it on and off, but periodically I can not. I am wondering if this could indicate an issue with the suspension ECU. However, I do not get any codes. Anyone use techstream and know if this is normal?

Tells the the module where the height of each shock is and where to dampen or add air to achieve the best possible ride and proper rear ride height.

Why does your mechanic think you need one? Is there an issue with the vehicle? Or did he see one barely hanging on(I’ve seen a few fall off).

thx, I searched it here and have a better understanding now. Just bought this GX470 167k couple weeks ago and updating...suspension is all OEM and seems to work but rough in some cases, Toyota mechanic put his computer on it and it threw a code...also I'll probably replace all the shocks with OEM but confused on shock prices from $200-$570ea. fact I did purchase the rears OEM in the Toyota boxes for $210ea. delivery is due soon.
