Default Gosh Dang!!! Its always something!!

WIthout going into the whole story, the abridged version is I accidentlaly broke my rear view mirror off of my windshield. But none of the parts seem broken, its as if the glue/cement was really weak and would have happened one of these days, I dunno. I need to make sure I found all of the parts and that what I do have isnt broken. I tried searching a few times but came up with nothing.

1. Could someone please post some pics of your rear view? Specifically, everything behind it, how it is mounted, the back side of the mirror, where it is connected to the windshield, how the wire is hidden up to the ceiling etc.

2. Anyone know of a good writeup on the re install? Hoping its just gluing the metal piece back on, allowing it to harden, then sliding the mirror on top and locking into place, but not 100%

3. Anything I else eshould be looking for?

Man it never fails. The minute I get something fixed or upgraded, something else grenades on me! Last time I got the pass side ML speaker replaced on my LS and 3 days later my driver side went out. Had to order that and install. Today I got my Vaistech (AWESOME!!!!!) and Beat Sonic DVD Bypass installed (also AWESOME!!) and was so digging driving the truck a little as its not my DD, and now this happens.

TIA

EDIT: So sorry for all the poor spelling!! That was all from my phone. Looking at it now Im horrified by what I had typed!

This is a picture of the back parts of the rear view mirror (2008) With a bright light at angles, you should be able to see where the steel plate, attached to the glass. The kit from an auto parts store, comes with a cleaner, and the glue, which is similar to super glue. I would find the area on the windshield and boarder that area with blue masking tape. That way when you clean the glass with the cleaner, you don't loose the location. If you are counting the dots on the glass for alignment on the bottom of the bracket, with the first bottom row being a half row, it is 4-1/2 rows of dots, from the bottom. Hope this helps.
