Rubbing alcohol works best to remove the cone adhesive; let it sit for a minute and the adhesive wipes off easily with a kitchen sponge. Paint thinner works best to remove the frame glue.

I never measured when they were out so I dont know....sorry. If you search and read through some threads, I know someone replace their 6x9s with 6.5", I cant remember if they listed measurements or not but its worth a try.

I replaced the 6x9 w/ a 6.5" speaker... The mounting depth is somewhere between 3" to 3 1/4" -- The back end of the speaker module is actually open to the inside of the door panel, the obstruction becomes the window glass pane inside the door when the window is full lowered. I had no problems w/ a 3" deep speaker.

The standard speakers are JBL. Do a EBay search to find the model number, then look them up on Crutchfield. They should have the depth. Are they broken or do you just want to upgrade them? Make sure the impedance matches or you could damage the amp.
