Bottomed out today
I'm the one that installed just some bilsteins in the back to try eliminate the shocks as the culprit. So don't just change out shocks. Air system has got to go next. I'm done with it.

Ive given up on what setup to go with, Im sticking with OEM parts.
From what Ive read, yes when you swap springs youll be lifted. I have no desire to lift my GX so thats another reason Im sticking with OEM parts when the time comes.
GOOD LUCK, hope you get your ride back to the way it was......

I'd rather sell it before dumping money into like that. Been eyeing the '08+ sequoias lately anyways. I always thought only lincolns had problems with air ride. Never again.

- on the factory bump stops (a rubbery bottoming), or
- did the shocks bottom out because they don't compress far enough? would be far harsher bottoming
Were you going over a big speed bump or something?
Sorry to hear about the trouble, regardless.

[QUOTE=stiles_s;7209146]What do you mean by you "bottomed out" today?

Same bottoming as before. Went through a dip. Shocks ride nice after you cycle the rear up and down as the stockers did.

You could but NONE of them come with a hold down for the bottom of the spring. Thats the big problem. Others that have done it had a shop fab up a holding type clamp so the spring doesnt rotate or pop out if the rear axle drops when going over deep bumps / dips.
Out axles dont have any type of clamping system since we dont use springs.

This might not help but theres a few guys running the 4Runner OME springs. You can get them here: http://www.wheelersoffroad.com/03upome4runner.htm but they'll definitely lift your GX. I dont think theres any US retailer selling the springs for the Prado.

Man you got me. Not alot of people MOD their GX other than HID kits and LED bulbs. LOL You'll have to be the guinea pig. Others have used coil springs but they wanted to lift their GX.
