Default Drivers side mirror

It seems that someone hit my drivers side mirror on my 2004 gx and cracked the shell. The mirror works fine its just the outer plastic part is cracked. My question is i see on ebay some for sale but im not sure if they are glued together or clipped in. Does anyone know how to take off the cover and if so is it easy or not.

If you dont get a response try to remove the glass and / or move your mirror until you can see how its held in place. On my Tundra when I swapped my chrome covers out for color matched covers the drivers side cover was screwed on and you had to remove the glass to get the cover off. The passengers side was held in by pressure clips and I was able to move the mirror in different angles to get the cover off.

Its not hard to remove the door panel, why dont you want to replace the entire mirror assembly?

The mirror works its just a cracked shell, so if i can save on cost and get a shell and paint it that would be fine with me. I was just curious if that shell was easy to transfer over or not. Removing the mirror and taking the door panel off i'm not worried i do all mechanical work myself i just didn't have the time to look it over in more detail.

Move the mirror down, up, left, right and you should be able to see how the cover is held on. If not, try PM'ing this member: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gx-...y-install.html
