Hey Guys,
Has anyone use a fluid evacuator before to change the engine oil ?
My brother told me about this fluid evacuator called Mityvac and he said it works great for his BMW to change oil.
I thought that would be cool not to have to crawl underneath the car to release the oil.
However, when I took a look at the dipstick tube in our GX, it seems to curve down to the engine. So I don't think the tube from the evacuator would work.![Sad](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/sad.gif)
If Anyone ever tried the Mityvac Fluid Evacuator or any other type of evacuator on the GX please comment.
Thanks

I had one I used on my wifes E39 BMW. Its easier to just remove the drain bolt and let gravity do its job. It comes in handy on the BMW since the filter is in the engine bay (you can suck out all the old oil in the filter housing) and not connected to the engine block like most vehicles. Plus it takes a little while to get out all the old oil. Removing the oil plug is ALOT easier then messing around with a Mityvac!

I have an oil extractor that I've used on 6 different cars thru the years, including my 2004 GX. The first time on each car, after I extract the oil, I go ahead and pull the drain plug so I can tell whether all the oiled is extracted, or if a significant amount was left. On my GX the extractor gets all of it - maybe a few drops after the drain plug is removed. I still have to go under the GX and change the oild filter - I find it's easier to just drop the engine guard than to work around it. Plus, it gives me a chance to see how things are looking, clean up the bottom of the engine and the suspension parts, etc. I find it's a lot easier to extract the oil than to dump it into a pan - less to clean up afterwards. I've also used the Fumoto valve on some cars where the extractor doesn't remove all the oil, and those work great too.
