Roof rack broken - anyone know where to get parts to fix?
Hi everyone, this is my first time posting to the forum. I have a 2004 GX470 and when driving on the freeway, the OEM roof rack bar snapped on the rear passenger side (see photo). Does anyone know where I can get the parts to fix?

Thanks,

Lead Lap
that's just the endcap piece which is clipped in.
Just use some thin 3M double sided grey automotive foam adhesive tape (emblem adhesive tape in most a/p stores) and reattach. You'll be fine... ask me how I know

Thanks man! Unfortunately, it flew off while driving on the freeway so recovery of the old piece is not possible. Do you know where I may be able to purchase a new trim piece?

for the amount of money they want for a cap you might investigate replacing the entire factory assembley with an aftermarket system from yakima or thule. you will have a stronger set of bars that is more customizable to your needs and accepts a wider variety of accessories (bike racks, ski racks, kayak, paddleboard, etc.)
it has been a while since i had all of the rubber strips off my roof, so i cant remember exactly what we have to work with, you might have to do some customization of the trim pieces in the roof valleys to get it looking oem sharp, but i think it is possible.
and yes, i realize i am suggesting going broke saving money...
finally, i hate the design of those caps. i broke one tab on a rear cap when i removed all the fascia and rubber trim to clean tree gunk out of the rails, i am sure mine will fly off one day too.
