Default AC Question

Is this normal for the the AC. When stopped, lets say while I am hooking up my boat or waiting at the ramp to launch or anything. The air does not blow cold, it in fact becomes hot. It cools down once under way again. Is this normal? I have never had an automobile do this. thanks for the help.

no issues, no codes, no nothing. everything works great as long as the car is moving. if it sits still for any length of time it does not blow cold air. I was thinking the it could be low on refrigerant. thought I would ask here first.

It's hard on a car (even Lexus), to sit going no-where with the A/C on full blast, because when driving, the fans do not have to pull the air in, air travels in itself.
My guess, low refrigerant, or weak A/C.
Good luck

The next time if it happens ( blowing warm air) check out the AC button on the pedestal...and see if it is blinking, if it is then replace the AC Magnetic Clutch Relay. This fixes the intermittent issue of blowing Hot or Cold Air. if not probably could be low refrigent issue also.

thanks for the replies. I will look into the clutch and also look into adding some refrigerant. is it the 134?
