Default Cheap alternative to new wheels

My wife's GX470 looks new minus the rims.. the clear coat had started to peel in a few areas. I was looking at refinishing and also potentially swapping out rims. I happened to hear a friend talking about plastidip and thought I'd give it a shot on her rims.. All I can say is wow!!! - I love the way it looks. The awesome thing is that it can be removed. Now as for its durability - that is yet to be seen. Check out a few shots of her rig with it's new look

3 cans of Plastidip and $15 later...

I like that look. How did you apply it?

looks awesome... another member did the same with his wheels with lots of pics too, ip with black wheels look good too... i think there was very little disapproval posts but i supported it...

i am so lazy i think i will just leave the wheels on and then put a cutout cardboard in front of brakes and spray away...

my 2 cents - take the few extra minutes and take the wheels off... leaving the lugs in chrome really makes it pop... and it would be more of a hassle to make a cut out that covered all of the rotor

Thumbs up

Love it! Looks great! -- Interested in a 'durability' report after a few miles are put on!

Cheers,
Kermee

Interesting. I have all kinds of wheel cancer going on with my '03 GX so this might be a good option.

Cool!

I'm also in need of repair since it started bubbling/peeling on some parts of the wheel of my 04 GX. Would you think black wheels is good in white body color?
