Audio upgrade for 2006 GX470
Hi
I am looking to integrate my iPhone with my 2006 GX470 audio system (has Navi and ML). I believe VAIStech, GTA and Grom all make kits that do this. Which of these is the best? I am open to both wired or bluetooth audio (A2DP) but would prefer bluetooth if it works seamlessly with the iPhone call functionality (like it does now). I do find that there is a small pause when answering calls with the built-in bluetooth integration which I would like to get rid off if possible.
Thanks.
RG
PS: with the upcoming new connector for iPhones it may make sense to go with plain USB integration so please advise on that if possible.

I have a 2006 GX470 and i'm looking at similar options.
First option is i'm researching how to AUX in (I don't have an AUX) via the CD Changer Left and Right channels as this is a $5 option, then adding the Blackberry Gateway A2DP which auto pairs and runs on 12v. Together it's about $30 or so. But you still have the OEM BT which sucks. You can get fancy and throw in some DPDT relays to preserve the CD Changer sound but I never use it.
Second option is the Grom TOY IPD3 unit that is $90 at autotoys.com and add the BT for $43 and it replaces the changer, allows ipod/iphone/android integration plus puts a new mic in for the phone system...however you lose steering wheel control of the phone. but you gain A2DP. If I can find a diagram of the 2006 CD changer harness I might start with option 1.
