Default GX wants to pull right when braking.. any thoughts?

When I brake hard. My truck wants to veer right. It drives straight otherwise.

I recently had my front shock replaced and prior tp that my truck did the same thing, although it was much worse since my left front shock was leaking. Originally I thought it was pulling because of the bad shock but now that thet've been replaced I am not to sure.

Alignment issue or something else entirely? Coud bad rear shocks cause the issue?

Yea that's what I am thinking too. Spoke with a Lexus master tech on another forum and he said the same thing. What did the replacement caliper set you back?

Don't go with OEM. They're WAY overpriced. Aftermarket is fine.

Cheers,

The caliper looks to only be $310 from Sewell.

Yup. Aftermarket is $60-$70. Up to you. -- Even my Lexus service department recommended the aftermarket over OEM after I had one 'seize'. They said they haven't seen any longevity or reliability differences between aftermarket and OEM for the calipers in our GX'es.

Cheers,
Kermee

Any source(s) that you would recommend for this?

Yes source for these $60 to $70 aftermarket caliper's please! At that price I will install 2 new calipers on the front axel. Did you install them on your GX?

It depends on what needs to be done and pricing... On occassion I will will take it to my dealer (Lexus of Rockville) but usually that's just for the simple routine stuff like oil changes, etc. Otherwise, 355 Toyota - they replaced my brake rotors and pads about 20k miles ago, cleaned out A/C system, lubbed my chasis, diff, changed transmisison fluid, replaced cabin filter etc.

Now because 355 Toyota wanted an arm and a leg to replace my front CV boots I took my car to GP Auto Group in Rockville. College Plaza Exxon in Rockville replaced my front shocks for $180 plus parts which I bought from Sewell. I will likely go back to my guy at College Plaza Exxon for the caliper replacement.

I found these calipers (Centric) at JC Whitney for $64 a piece... They appear to be remanufactured.

Anyone have any experience with this particular brand?

Within the last 8 months I've replaced all 4 calipers on our GX. I went with aftermarket, as Kermee stated. They were all Duralast calipers and I haven't had a single issue yet. Just recently did the rear two but the front two were done before Easter and in all we have put 6k miles on the truck since they were installed and not a single complaint yet about them. From what I remember they were 59$ each with a 45$ core charge.

Its a straightforward easy job to do yourself if you think about doing it yourself. Took me 2.5 hours (from opening the toolbox to putting everything away) to do the fronts and a large chunk of that was bleeding the brake lines after the install and clean up.

Bought 2 front Centrex calipers that come with pads already installed for $81 a piece w/free shipping - that includes the core refund.

He Alan, any problems with the Centrex supplied shims and thus peddal feel? How many miles do you have on the rotors/pads/calipers? Any issues, pulsing?

I ended up ordering their front rotors too only because I am getting some pulsing and since I am replacing everything else might as well do the rotors too.
