rear shocks on 04 gx
My dilemma is I want to keep the truck as original as possible. I will pay for the shocks and will put them on myself. My question is : is there any programming after installation, do I just plug the new ones in. I found a pair on ebay from Buyautopart and they look original. I am thinking about going that way.Any suggestion anyone. Pls reply. Thank you

Not so. There's still a pig tail hanging off of them for the ride control.

x2. The pigtails on the front & rear shocks are for sport / comfort adjustability.

rear shocks
Gentlemen, you guys are the best. I really appreciate the feedback. I will do it myself. The symptoms are yes they are bottoming out on the bumps and sweating around, that's how the inspection station tech was able to tell. Thank you again to all

In my case, I had to move the arms to the highest position for them to move the rear up any, but that has bought me some time to decide which way to go. Keeping it stock is the most pricey and maintains a better trade in value. A full spring/shock conversion is the least expensive and most reliable option. Either way is still way cheaper than taking a hit on any trade scenarios.

Id say its your ride height sensors too. I have a really bad dip near my house right after a light. If the red light catches me I have time to raise the rear it doesnt bottom out but if I dont have time to raise the rear it bottoms out over that dip. I dont really care because it only happens on that dip and its so bad other cars bottom out over it too.

That's anyone know the part # for the sensor or sensors? My 04 has hit rock bottom! The truck is complete to the Low position and very jumpy. Wifey feels like she driving a low rider! :-)

Guys, I went through that last year. I was getting the low rider sensation. The dealer had found that only one of the sensor was defective, that problem is solved. Now I only feel it when you go over a bump or a dip and the shocks are also sweating. Tks

Both of them are the height control sensors, you can search online with these number parts to find a good deal, dont buy at lexus dealer, crazy price.

My question really is how can we determine if it's this or if the shocks need replacing? Lexus Dealer told me I needed new shocks. They were leaking.

Thanks for the info guys. I replaced both sensor yesterday(my self about 2 hour project)now the truck seating very low and a bumpy ride is fixed but not the part when you over a dip or a bump. I thinking the shocks 79k on the truck and live in NY so you know how that is. If anyone knows a good place for the shocks beside Lexus dealer. Thanks again
