If I were you Id buy OEM ballast from TRS. They use AMP connectors so you can use any H11 "kit" bulbs. The ballasts are the same ballast used in Lexus and Toyota so you know theyre quality.

Ballasts: http://www.theretrofitsource.com/pro...ducts_id=19575
Bulbs: http://www.theretrofitsource.com/pro...oducts_id=4121

If you email Matt directly he'll give you a coupon code to use on his site.

Might as well go with a real HID kit, considering that these bulbs only last for 1-2 months (if you drive a lot).

How much is an HID kit and how detailed is the installation? I have SS bulbs now and they look better than stock but are far inferior to HID

Anywhere from $50 per kit up to $200-300 per kit. Depends on how much you don't mind blowing & how much BS you buy into about one kit being better than another.

Me personally, I buy the $60 kits from HIDextra (when they're on sale for $30) and get extra ballasts/bulbs. Once you get working ballasts you can run the cheap kits for a couple years before having to replace something or losing any of the quality of light.

I agree going HID. For free of hassle, the Xtreme kit from XenonDepot are pretty decent (and i am not advertising their products, just speak from my own experience), never had any issue with it. Installation is not that complicated, if not piece of cake. I actually had 2 kits and also talked a few of my friends to go with XenonDepot. Even the cheaper VOLT kit are pretty good, too

Cool HID Headlights - GX470

I have used the Silverstar bulbs and they seem a bit whiter than the originals. However I just installed a Kensun H11 HID Xenon conversion kit that cost $69.95 on Amazon. I had no problem with the installation though I did take the battery hold down off and slid the battery back about 2 inches to make more room. I never had to disconnect the batter.

The result is fantastic and like noght and day compared to the Silver Stars. These things are nearly a require safety item in my opinion.

You are correct-NO halogen bulb can ever come close to a HID kit!! I love mine. Did you do the Fog lights too, if not do them as you will be in for another shocker

Do the HID kits come with directions for our application or is it just a generic how to? I'm Definitely interested, just not very comfortable doing electrical work.

If you decide to get it try to find a kit with relay harness (some just 'plug & play' ) which make the kit last longer.some company will send direction with the kit , mine is over email. good luck with your choice!

Hey Boss--Go with Steve's kit (Xenon depot) His come with the relay harness and kits are Top notch you wont be disappointed at all. SIMPLE plug and play, Its truly that easy. Couple connectors and hook up the ground wires to a place under your hood and Hot wire to the battery terminal

I just installed the xenon depot kit and it was easy. It's just a matter of finding a place to put the parts. I just set the kit in place and made sure the lights worked and then started locking down the components. I am very happy with the lights. Mike
